Aug 10, 2007     Birthday of My Fun Projects

Welcome to My Fun Projects. In this web site, you will find electronic, camera and car projects. Most of them are of intermediate-level requiring background in analogue electronic such as transistors, JFET, MOSFET, OpAmp, comparator, voltage regulator, diode. resistor, capacitor, transformer, coil, LED... It also needs basic electronic shop tool and equipment such as bench power supply, multimeter, soldering iron,  solder sucker and magnifying glass. Oscilloscope is also required for some projects. Other tools like portable drill, rotary tool and jig saw are required for machining enclosures.

I am interested not only in building things from scratch, but also in hardware hacking. I have hacked several PC power supply units, changed their voltages for various needs. Other hackings include some wireless gadgets and battery chargers for power tools. My favorite stores are dollar stores, thrift stores and liquidation stores where electronics are cheap.

I hate chemicals. I never etch PCB at home. I don't like swimming pool because the chlorine released from the pool water make me sick. For the same reason, I never use bleaching liquid for laundry.

A lot of parts I used were salvaged from obsolete stuff. For example, in an older PC, I salvage its heat sink, cooling fan and power supply unit. In an VCR, I salvage the power supply unit and some transistors. In a microwave oven, I salvage some micro-switches and the timer module. In some kid's toys car, I salvage motors and gearboxes. Some older equipment enclosures were used in my projects...

I am also interested in digital cameras. I have done some camera related DIY projects such as LCD range finder, infrared camera, wired remote control etc.

If you have any thing that you want to share, drop me a comment. Thanks for visiting my site.
